A solo home run by Pedro Leon in the third inning made the Caguas Creoles They will advance on Sunday to the final of the Roberto Clemente Professional Baseball League (LBPRC), by beating the 1-0 Santurce Crab Eatersto dispatch them in five games.
The Criollos, top champions of the winter league with 20 titles, will return to their first coronation dance since the 2021-2022 campaign, when they defeated the Mayaguez Indians, and they got hold of the back to back.
It is also the 36th final in the history of the competition for the ninth Caguena team, which, after losing the first match of the semifinal against Santurce, prevailed in the following four consecutive matches.
It will also be the first as manager for the former Major League catcher, Yadier Molina.

Tempers flared in the sixth inning when, in relief, Fernando Cruz hit Jonathan Morales with a ball. Immediately afterwards, the benches emptied, and Jose “Cheo” Molina, who is part of the Criollos staff, was expelled.
In the bottom of the eighth inningCaguas reliever Yacksel Rios replaced Braden Webb, fanning Rivera and then retiring Jack Lopez.
Rios stayed in the ninth inning, saving the duel, and sealing the victory.
Caguas won the game with just two hits, compared to five for Santurce, who did not score in the last 18 innings.
The LBPRC reported that official attendance on Sunday at the Bithorn was 16,113 people.
