The Giants are one win away from their second consecutive final by beating the Lions in winter baseball

The Carolina Giants defeated the Leones de Ponce 5-3 on the road on Friday in the fourth game of the A semifinal and were one victory away from going to the final of the Roberto Clemente Professional Baseball League (LBPRC).

In the seventh inning and with the bases loaded, Jan Hernandez hit a single through left field to break the tie at two and seal the victory for the Giantsbringing Felix Stevens and Gabriel Cancel to the plate, who hit consecutive hits.

At the Francisco “Paquito” Montaner stadium, Carolina opened the scoring in the legs of Cancel, after Roberto “Bebo” Pena hit a liner for the first inning in the fourth episode. Immediately afterwards, Delvin Perez scored the second run after a wild pitch by reliever Julio Torres, which the lion catcher, Samuel Hernandez, failed to control.

The Giants, who lead the series 3-1, return to the field on Sunday at Roberto Clemente Walker Stadium in Carolina when they host the Lions in search of a ticket to their second consecutive final in winter baseball.
