12 workers kidnapped in northern Mexico found alive

Mexico CityAbout 12 employees of a construction company who had been kidnapped in the state of Nuevo Leon, in the north of Mexicowere found alivestate authorities announced on Monday.

The Nuevo Leon Prosecutor’s Office said in a brief statement that the 12 workers were released after a joint operation in which elements of the Army and the National Guard and agents from the prosecutor’s offices of the northern states of Nuevo Leon and Tamaulipas participated. The authorities did not specify where the release took place.

The 12 construction employees were kidnapped the day before in the Anahuac municipality of Nuevo Leon by a group of eight armed menThe State Prosecutor’s Office reported on Sunday.

A month ago, a massive kidnapping was also recorded in the city of Culiacan, capital of the northern state of Sinaloa, where 66 people were kidnapped and released days later.s.
