516-foot hit!  Puerto Rican baseball player Jac Caglianone impresses in the NCAA

A huge hit that went out of sight of the cameraman during the broadcast of Tuesday’s game between Jacksonville University and the University of Florida, in NCAA Division I baseball, was hit by the two-way player of Puerto Rican descent Jac Caglianoneand reached 516 feet away.

According to the broadcast of the game, the ball passed the scoreboard in the woods on the right and even in the instant replay it is difficult to see the ball when it falls on the ground.

The game was 4-0 in favor of the Gators when the DH, Caglianone, disappeared the ball with a teammate on board in the bottom of the fourth inning.

It was his 21st home run of the season and his seventh in consecutive games. He is second in the nation in home runs.

Caglianone, whose mother is Puerto Rican, went 2-3 in that game with three runs scored and two RBIs, in a 12-1 victory for the University of Florida.
