A manufacturer of electric air taxis receives authorization to make flights in the United States

The Angels – a manufacturer of electric air taxis, received this Wednesday authorization from the US authorities to operate aircraft in preparation for the launch of its first commercial service.

Archer Air, a subsidiary of Archer Aviation, is the second largest manufacturer of air taxis -after Joby Aviation- in obtaining the Part 135 certificate of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA, in English)which allows commercial flights to be carried out in the country.

The company, based in the Californian town of Santa Clara, has developed an electric vertical takeoff aircraft called Midnight that has yet to be certified by the FAA.

Last week, Archer Aviation announced that it was preparing to launch a ride-hailing service in South Korea in 2026, while in 2023 it revealed that it would launch air taxi service in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and India.
