The authorities found alive this afternoon Maria de Lourdes Ramirez Rivera, 64, who had been missing since yesterday and for whom the Silver Alert was activated this morningin Rio Grandeconfirmed to El Nuevo Dia on Captain Jesus Cruzdirector of Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) of Fajardo.
“Thanks to daddy God she was found alive and stable. She was in a very dense forest, she has already been preliminarily evaluated by paramedics and is in good health. For now, what follows is that she will be transported to the Rio Grande Dispensary for a complete medical evaluation.”Cruz said.
The area where she was found was adjacent to the Jimenez neighborhood near the home where the woman lived.
For his part, upon finding the woman, Police Commissioner Antonio Lopez Figueroa ordered the Silver Alert to be deactivated.
Earlier, the Police had indicated that the search was concentrated in the Samuel Davila sector, near a home for the elderly where the woman resides.
“A neighbor gave us some images from his camera and around 7:00 pm she passed by his residence. “This is a dead end street, so we have several groups doing the search.”Lieutenant Glenda Roman, who leads the Criminal Investigation Corps (CIC) team that was looking for Ramirez Rivera, had reported.
Roman also clarified that, according to the caretaker of the home and the complainant in this case, Ramirez Rivera managed to escape after some workers left a gate open, from which the woman would have left towards the neighborhood..
The lieutenant had also warned that Ramirez Rivera takes medication and that as of today, Tuesday, had not been provided, so she could be dazed or disoriented.
