A wrestling athlete and another powerlifting athlete are the most recent positives reported by the Puerto Rico Anti-Doping Organization

The Puerto Rico Anti-Doping Organization (Prado, for its acronym in English) announced the names of two other competitors who obtained adverse analytical results in doping tests that were carried out during competitions in the country.

Is about Jose Manuel Borrero Caraballofrom the sport of powerliftingand Joseph Jourdan, Olympic wrestling. Their names join those of seven other athletes facing punishment for failed anti-doping tests.

Borrero Caraballo received a four-year suspension – from April 18, 2024 to April 17, 2028 – after testing positive for the anabolic steroid stanozolol and its metabolites and the drug Anastrozolewhich according to medical literature is used in hypermuscled men to reduce or reverse gynecomastia caused by the effects of anabolics.

Jourdan was banned for three years for testing positive for the anabolic methandienone. This athlete represented Puerto Rico in the Central American and Caribbean Games San Salvador 2023 and Pan American Games Santiago 2023. Likewise, he became champion of the 86 kilos of the Interuniversity Athletic League (LAI) as a student athlete Interamerican University Puerto Rico (UIPR) in December 2023.
