Alumni of San Antonio High in Guayama will form their own Junte Boricua

45 years ago that Isabel Maria ´Chabela’ Sanchez graduated from Colegio San Antonio in Guayama and still maintains the friendships she cultivated in her youth, although some, like her, made their lives outside the Puerto Rican archipelago.

The 62-year-old educator moved to Miami, Florida, as soon as she finished high school at the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, with the intention of completing a master’s degree and returning to the island, but that never happened, since she began working as a teacher for the county school system.

However, the harvest gathered in his high school years, It became a brotherhood that stays in touch despite time and distance.seeking the common well-being, above all, that of her friend Chabela who faces a diagnosis of pulmonary fibrosis.

The woman, a native of Havana, Cuba, arrived in the ‘Witch City’ in 1962, when she was barely one year old.
