The National Meteorological Service (SNM) issued a new excessive heat warning that will last from 10:00 in the morning until 4:00 in the afternoon on Thursday.

According to the statement from the atmospheric agency, The warning will be in force for the municipalities of Rincon, Moca, Anasco, San Juan, Bayamon, Mayaguez, Catano, Hatillo, Florida, Isabela, Dorado, Vega Alta, Guaynabo, Carolina, Aguadilla, Manati, Camuy, Quebradillas, San German, Toa Baja, Toa Alta, Hormigueros, Vega Baja, Barceloneta, Trujillo Alto, Arecibo and Aguada.

“The available humidity and east-southeast winds will promote heat index values ​​that could affect heat-sensitive people,” the statement says.

The SNM reported that, for this Thursday, they are expected High temperatures in the low 90s Fahrenheit (°F), but accumulated humidity will cause heat indices to increase, triggering the sensation of heat between 108°F and 111°F.
