Another setback in the career of Puerto Rican catcher Roberto “Bebo” Perez

So far in the 2024 season, the Puerto Rican receiver Roberto “Bebo” Perez has not yet been able to play in the Triple A affiliate with the organization of the Boston Red Sox despite his presence in several games in recent spring camps.

The 35-year-old from Mayaguez is still recovering from surgery that was performed on his right shoulder more than a year ago, when he was a member of the San Francisco Giants.his agent said Melvin Roman.

In April of last season, Perez injured his shoulder after making a throw to second base with the Giants. He was immediately operated on and lost the entire season. He worked on his rehabilitation and signed a minor league contract with an invitation to spring camp with the Red Sox in mid-December.

That’s how he appeared in uniform at Red Sox training sessions in February and even participated in six exhibition games. He had nine at-bats and had one hit. It was known that Perez would start the campaign in the Triple A affiliate.
