Authorities fine a business in San Juan for operating a bar and a clandestine casino

The San Juan Municipal Police yesterday, Thursday, he fined an establishment on Jesus T. Pinero Avenue that operated a clandestine casinoreported the commissioner Jose Juan Garcia Diaz.

The intervention took place together with inspectors from the City Council’s Permit Office and staff from the Gaming Commission. The fines imposed for operating a bar and casino without proper permits amount to $4,000.

“Last night, 15 businesses were intervened, the total number of tickets was 28; violations of the current Public Order Code were nine, for a global amount of fines of $43,800. “We reiterate our call to business owners to update their permits and comply with them to have a better social coexistence.”said Colonel Garcia Diaz.

The businesses intervened were: Envio Mi Gente, Colmado Rodriguez, Aqui me quedo, George’s BBQ, Whoops Minimart, Acai Express, A onde fili, Vidy’s Bar and Rest., Dipea Wings, El Boricua, El Ensayo and Meduza.

The Municipal Police added that two of the businesses visited had their documents up to date. The fifteenth establishment on the list is Hawaii, where the clandestine casino was operated.

The business violations included operating without permits, unnecessary noise, sales after hours, and the sale of glass containers, among others.
