Bail denied in federal weapons case against San Juan Park Massacre suspect

A federal magistrate denied bail in a firearms case against a man who has been identified by the Police as one of the suspects in the so-called San Juan Park Massacre.

Luis Soto Navarrete will have to remain hospitalized until the preliminary hearing, scheduled for June 27, while he faces a charge of illegal possession of a firearm that was stolen from him. occupied during a raid by the Puerto Rico Police in a house in Santurce.

The defendant appeared this Thursday at the Federal Court in Old San Juan, where Judge Bruce J. McGiverin heard the federal prosecutor’s request for him to remain in custody, while the Public Defender’s Office argued in favor of bail.
