Bees attack Spanish Carlos Alcaraz’s match at the Indian Wells tournament

Sports Editorial (EFE).- The match between Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev in the Indian Wells quarterfinals had to be stopped this Thursday for more than an hour and when only nine minutes into the game due to the appearance of a large group of bees on the court.

With the score 1-1 and 15-0 for the Spanish, the chair umpire ordered the game stopped on the center court of the California desert tournament because the bees made it impossible to play and they were even attacking Alcaraz, who had to get in running to the locker room.

The Murcian, who was about to serve, began to look from side to side as he saw more and more bees and raised his arms without understanding what was happening before leaving the court.

“The game has been stopped due to a ‘bee invasion’,” joked the chair umpire, who also suffered some bee attacks.
