The veteran forward Alejandro “Bimbo” Carmona He took to social media this Friday to announce his retirement as a Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) player, after a 22-season career in the league.

Carmona, 40, had expressed his desire to retire at the conclusion of last season, when he fulfilled his dream of winning the championship with his hometown franchise, the Carolina Giants.

Carmona follows in the footsteps of his native, Filiberto Riverawho announced his retirement several months ago as he was also part of the Carolina squad that won its first championship in league history.

After 22 seasons, I was able to make my dreams come true, play and have fun in each of the teams that I had the honor of representing, I did it with a lot of respect and passion.. The times that I had the privilege of wearing the uniform of my country cannot be described,” Carmona wrote in a letter in which he also thanks the leaders who worked on his development as a player.
