Boxer Ryan Garcia tests positive for the second Ostarine test, but his lawyers and promoter maintain his innocence

The boxer’s test B Ryan Garcia tested positive for a banned substance, ESPN reported Thursday, but the boxer’s legal team and promoter emphasized the negative result of a hair sample to ensure that he did not violate the rules.

Exhibit A for Garcia, who floored Devin Haney three times in New York to win by majority decision on April 20, had tested positive for “ostarine” on May 1.

Garcia’s lawyers – Paul Greene, Matt Kaiser, Darin Chavez and Guadalupe Valencia – indicated in a statement that the fighter presented the hair sample after the first positive. They also pointed to the results of the first test to argue that “the levels were too low” and were “in the range of a billionth of a gram,” as evidence that Garcia was not guilty of taking performance-enhancing drugs.
