BSN: Successful debut of Ysmael Romero with the Mets in Ponce

Ysmael Romero had a double-double of 24 points and 15 rebounds in his debut on Wednesday with the Guaynabo Mets, who defeated the Ponce Leones, 73-63, at the Juan “Pachin” Vicens Auditorium.

Romero joined the ranks of the metropolitans after being traded along with Jahvari Josiah from the Cowboys for Gary Browne, EJ Crawford and Brandon Boyd, plus the rights to imported DeMarcus Cousins.

Guaynabo improved to 14-11, second in Section B of the National Superior Basketball (BSN). In Ponce, they were not led by Jose Juan Barea, who traveled to Dallas to receive a tribute from the Mavericks during the third game of the NBA finals against the Boston Celtics.

Jaysean Paige added 14 points and Benito Santiago Jr. 12 in the victory. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson also had a double-double of 10 points and 14 rebounds.
