Carlos Correa went scoreless in four at-bats in his return to the lineup with the Twins

Chicago – Max Kepler hit a tiebreaking RBI single in the ninth inning and the Minnesota Twins beat the Chicago White Sox 3-2 on Monday for their eighth straight victory.

Puerto Rican Carlos Correa returned to the lineup with the Twins, after missing 16 games due to injury, and went blank in four shifts. His compatriot Jose Miranda went 0-for-2.

Byron Buxton doubled to lead off the ninth inning off John Brebbia (0-1). Kepler, who entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the sixth, then drove it in with a single to right field.

Caleb Thielbar emerged safely in the ninth, striking out Korey Lee to end the game after walking and allowing a two-out single.

Joe Ryan pitched six solid innings for the Twins, allowing two runs on six hits.
