He National Weather Service (SNM) in San Juan predicts for this Saturday, Kings Daya mix of clouds and sun, with brief showers, at times, entering through coastal sectors of the north and east of Puerto Rico.
“We are expected to have mostly variable conditions, more so during the day. “It is expected to be calm, but we are going to have some downpours at times,” the meteorologist explained Mariangelis Marreroin statements to The new day.
He added that this is because “we have northeast winds that are going to bring some rain activity, but rather it will be due to patches of humidity that are going to enter the area.” However, he stressed that these rain accumulations are not expected to be significant.
“In general, the day is expected to be a calm one,” Marrero said.
Regarding maritime conditions, the meteorologist stated that the waves will “be fluctuating between 3 to 5 feet in the waters of the Atlantic (ocean). In the sea outside the Atlantic, well, we are going to have up to seven feet” due to a slight swell.
“We do not have any risk of ocean currents today. In general, the risk is rather low to moderate today… For today, the wind will remain in the easterly waters around 10 to 15 knots, fluctuating with a swell of 3 to 5 feet . In the waters of the Caribbean it will be much more stable,” he stated.
Regarding temperatures, he said that, at least in coastal areas, they will fluctuate between 80 degrees Fahrenheit (°F).
“In the center of the island, (the temperature) will be fluctuating between 70 (degrees). Late into the night, it is expected that these temperatures in the coastal areas will fluctuate in the high 70s (degrees), while in the inland areas they would be experiencing temperatures around the high 65s (degrees),” he pointed out.
