Complaint before the DRNA for alleged environmental violations in two properties of the governor’s son in Guanica

A complaint for alleged environmental violations at two properties that Anthony Pierluisi Rojo – eldest son of the governor Pedro Pierluisi remains in Guanica Bay was presented this Wednesday, before several local and federal agencies, by the Senate candidate of the Popular Democratic Party (PPD). Carlos Diaz Sanchez.

The pre-candidate submitted referrals to Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (DRNA), the Permit Management Office (OGPe), the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS).

In the case of the complaint sent to the DRNA, the politician asks the agency to “exercise its ministerial duty, conferred by Law 23-1972as amended, and known as the Organic Law of the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources.”

The three-page document states that Article 5(h) of Law 23 establishes that “the secretary will have the duty to exercise surveillance and conservation of the territorial waters, the lands submerged under them and the terrestrial maritime zonegrant franchises, permits and public licenses for their use and exploitation.”
