Concern over rise in dengue cases: “It is much more than what was seen in the whole of last year”

In the first 23 weeks of 2024, 9,852,482 suspected cases of dengue in the Americas region, representing an increase of 231% compared to the same period in 2023 and 420% compared to the average of the last five years.

Puerto Rico is not alien to this reality and, as recently as June 21, extended the dengue epidemic until the end of the year originally declared in March.
