Court of Appeals validates selection of company in charge of the CRECE tests

He appeals court determined that the Education deparment correctly awarded the tender to implement and administer the standardized Student Screening, Review and Continuous Evaluation (CRECE) tests in public schools to the company Pearson PEM Puerto Ricowhich presented the lowest costs and demonstrated its experience in this task.

As a result of this lawsuit, the Appeal itself paralyzed the administration of the tests at the beginning of May – for several days.

“Pearson has an extensive track record of experience in all areas required in the RFP (request for proposals process). The evaluation of the proposals allowed the conclusion that Pearson and her 18 years of experience carrying out the measurement in the DEPR (Education) qualifies her as excellently prepared to correctly comply with the services requested by the DEPR through the RFP “establishes the ruling of the intermediate forum.

Last December, Education launched an RFP to hire the company that would be in charge of the new standardized tests, which must be offered to students as required by the Federal Department of Education. In February, the local agency awarded the RFP to Pearson.
