Delta flight diverted to New York after serving spoiled food

NY – A Delta flight that left from Detroit toward Amsterdam was diverted to the airport on Wednesday John F. Kennedy of NY after passengers were served spoiled food, according to airline officials.

The overnight flight took off from Detroit around 11 p.m. Tuesday and landed in New York at 4 a.m. “following reports that part of the main cabin in-flight meal service had broken down”a Delta spokesperson said in a statement.

Emergency medical personnel met the flight and treated 12 passengers, according to the New York Fire Department.

It was not clear how many of the 277 passengers on the flight had eaten the spoiled food.

Delta said it would investigate what happened.

“This is not the service Delta is known for and we sincerely apologize to our customers for any inconvenience or delays to their travels.”a Delta spokesman said.
