Donald Trump trial jury in New York asks to hear testimony again after beginning to deliberate

NYNY —The jury in the trial against donald trump in NY He asked Wednesday to hear testimony and instructions on the charges again less than four hours after he began deliberating the first criminal case against a former U.S. president.

The four requests included testimony related to a 2015 meeting at Trump Tower, where a tabloid editor agreed to identify and silence negative stories about Trump during his presidential campaign. The jurors wanted to hear the stories of the protagonists of that meeting: Michael Cohen, Trump’s former lawyer and confidant, and David Pecker, former editorial director of the National Enquirer.

The jury of seven men and five women was sent to a private room shortly before 11:30 in the morning to begin debating a verdict in this historic case. Jurors’ discussions will be confidential, although they can send notes to the judge asking to hear testimony again, such as those sent Wednesday afternoon. This will also be how they will notify the court that they have reached a verdict, or if they have not been able to reach one.
