The former secretary of Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (DCR) Erik Rolon reported today, Saturday, that he will not enter the race for mayor of Golden.
“Regarding the consideration of running for Mayor of Dorado, my family and I have decided that it is not the right time“Rolon indicated in written statements. “Therefore, we will continue with other pending projects,” he added without offering more details.
The president of the House of Representatives, Rafael “Tatito” Hernandezstarted recently, his campaign for mayor of Dorado under the insignia of Popular Democratic Party (PPD), which would force a primary with the incumbent Carlos Lopez .
Lopez confirmed on Thursday, during an event in the public square of Dorado, who will seek re-election: “Our commitment to continue serving Dorado has not ended. For this reason, we are today and now making ourselves available again to continue our work in the field and town for four more years.”
Hernandez, for his part, said that Lopez’s message “demonstrates his usual desperation.” “Support for our candidacy transcends beyond party lines, as is the tradition in Dorado and the essence of the PPD, adding and advancing the causes of social justice of our people,” he claimed the legislator in written statements.
