Extreme heat warning continues for much of Puerto Rico

A Extreme heat warning remains in effect through Friday for the entire north, west and south coast of Puerto Rico between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the afternoon, reported the National Weather Service (SNM)In San Juan.

However, the pattern of afternoon rains associated with the daytime effects of heat will continue to be recorded this Friday in municipalities in the west.

“The Heat indices will once again exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit (°F) and we have that extreme heat warning that extends from, more or less, the municipalities of Carolina and Canovanas, in the north to Aguadilla. So, from Aguadilla to Cabo Rojo, in the west, and from Cabo Rojo to Yabucoa, in the south, during peak warming hours,” indicated Carlos Anselmi, SNM meteorologist.

Expected for Friday Maximum temperatures between low and mid 90s F for coastal municipalities and valleyswhile maximum temperatures are expected in the low and mid 80s°F for mountainous area.
