Fernando Cruz suffers his second setback of the campaign in the Reds’ loss to the Padres

San Diego- Jake Cronenworth broke the tie with a grand slam in the seventh inning, and Jurickson Profar had four hits for the San Diego Padres, who defeated the Cincinnati Reds 6-2 on Wednesday to take two of the three games in the Serie.

Cronenworth hit the third bases-loaded home run of his career and the Padres’ second this season. Tyler Wade opened the inning with a bunt single off Puerto Rican reliever Fernando Cruz (1-2), before a single by Profar and a walk to Dominican Fernando Tatis Jr.

On Cruz’s first pitch, Cronenworth disappeared the ball into right field.

Profar, who signed a new one-year, $1 million deal in the offseason, extended his hitting streak to eight games. He hit a two-run single in the fourth inning.
