Firefighters extinguished a fire in an abandoned structure in Rio Piedras

Units of the Fire Department Bureau They extinguished, on Saturday afternoon, a fire reported on the first floor of an abandoned structure on Jose de Diego Street in Rio PiedrasSan Juan.

Although the incident occurred near multiple residences, the Fire Department reported that surrounding structures were not affected by the fire. The agency indicated that they are in the process of identifying the owner of the building.

The Fire Department units of Rio Piedras, San Jose, Trujillo Alto and Puerto Nuevo responded to the situation, along with personnel from the Special Operations Division (DOE) and the Municipal Emergency Management Office (OMME) of San Juan.

They also provided effective support from Bureau for Emergency Management and Disaster Administration (NMEAD) and Puerto Rico Police Bureau.
