Keep healthy relationships with friends and family is part of the magic of having a happy and productive life. “True love involves taking care of ourselves and respecting ourselves. “That means respecting our scale of values, our principles and, ultimately, the self-acceptance of our own being.”explains the clinical psychologist, who believes that this also has to do with the “luck” of being born and growing up in a functional family environment.

In fact, it indicates that recognition by our parents is fundamental for our self-esteem, which also encompasses the concept of self-love. “Therefore, it is a learning, perhaps the most important, that serves as a basis for all the others,” adds Dr. Gonzalez, who emphasizes the importance of first valuing and respecting ourselves more.
