Flood warning expires for two western municipalities after rains linked to tropical wave

He National Weather Service (SNM) cancelled, on Thursday afternoon, a flood warning which was issued for two towns in the western area following bands of precipitation associated with the passage of the weak tropical wave Invest 96L near the island.

According to the bulletin issued by the SNM, the following municipalities were under a flood warning that expired:

  • Rincon and Aguada: was in force until 6:00 pm

The federal agency said that at 4:10 p.m., Doppler radar indicated the presence of heavy rain and thunderstorms. According to the weather agency, one to two inches of rain had fallen in that region and at least one additional inch of precipitation was expected.

Earlier, in an interview with The new dayThe meteorologist Emanuel Rodriguezof the SNM, had anticipated that Invest 96L would bring bands of rain and isolated gusts of wind that would affect a considerable portion of Puerto Rico.
