Flood warning issued for several municipalities in Puerto Rico expires after heavy rains

He National Weather Service (SNM) canceled, on Tuesday afternoon, a new flood warning that it had issued for several municipalities in western Puerto Rico due to heavy rains recorded in the area.

The towns that were under this flood warning that expired, at 4:40 p.m., were Aguada, Aguadilla, Anasco, Camuy, Isabela, Moca, Quebradillas, Rincon and San Sebastian.

According to the SNM, an inch of rain has already fallen in the area and an additional inch of precipitation was expected.

Meanwhile, the meteorological agency, in turn, has already canceled a warning that it issued earlier to Bayamon, Carolina, Catano, Guaynabo, San Juan, Toa Alta, Toa Baja and Trujillo Alto.

Earlier, the SNM indicated that the tropical wave that affected Puerto Rico on Monday is moving away from the region, but not before leaving a trail of high levels of humidity in the area that would cause downpours for hoursmostly in the eastern quadrant of the archipelago.
