Flood warning issued for towns in the interior and west of Puerto Rico

The National Meteorological Service (SNM) issued a flood warning for several towns in the west and center of the island.

According to that entity’s newsletter, The towns of Adjuntas, Ciales, Jayuya and Utuado will be under a flood warning until 5:00 p.m..

These municipalities are expected to receive one to two inches of rain over the next few hours as thunderstorms continue to move west.

“Additional rain could cause minor flooding,” the bulletin reads.

Additionally, the municipalities of Cabo Rojo, Hormigueros and San German will also be under a flood warning, although this will be until 4:45 p.m..

In these municipalities, the precipitation that would be falling would be up to an inch and this is expected to cause minor flooding.

On Tuesday morning, the SNM warned that the afternoon would have a high probability of rain due to the passage of a trough through the island and high temperatures.
