Forensic Sciences confirms that the body found in the Arecibo river corresponds to that of a young woman swept away by a flood of water

He Institute of Forensic Sciences (ICF) confirmed, through dental x-rays, that the body that the authorities recovered on Saturday in the area where they were looking for Vianca Zoe Sanchez Maisonet corresponds to the 23-year-old girl, who was reported missing after being swept away on June 16 by a burst of water in the Tanama River, in Arecibo.

“A family member authorized for the identification process was notified today of the conclusion of the analysis carried out by the forensic odontologist. The autopsy was performed yesterday, Sunday, June 23. Sanchez Maisonet’s body is ready to be delivered to the funeral home selected by the family,” the agency indicated in written statements.

Although on Sunday morning a report from Police Bureau identified the body found in the body of water as that of Sanchez Maisonet, the ICF was still carrying out the process to carry out an official identification.

The ICF press spokesperson, Betsy Rivera reported, on Sunday, that the public entity was in the process of contacting an authorized family member to begin a scientific identification process that would corroborate whether the body found corresponded to the young woman.
