Francisco Lindor hits a home run in the Mets’ extra-inning victory

Washington- Brandon Nimmo drove in two runs in his return from a hotel room scare, and the New York Mets beat the Washington Nationals 7-2 on Tuesday for their second straight extra-inning victory.

Nimmo, who suffered a cut on his forehead after collapsing Sunday night, entered the game in the fourth inning after Harrison Bader was removed following a collision with the wall in right-center field.

In the eighth inning, he drove in Puerto Rican Francisco Lindor with a single that tied the score. Once the game went into extra innings, he was part of a barrage of hits against Robert Garcia (0-3).

As part of a five-run rally in the 10th inning, Cuban Jose Iglesias hit a double that gave the Mets the lead. Nimmo doubled and Pete Alonso hit his 18th homer.
