Francisco Lindor leaves the Mets’ victory over the Nationals

Washington – Venezuelan Luis Torrens hit two home runs in a game for the second time in his career and the Puerto Rican Francisco Lindor added a solo home run for the New York Mets will complete a three-game sweep of the Washington Nationals.

The Mets batted in the sixth inning, sending 10 men to the plate, scoring six times on seven hits, including two home runs and two doubles. They now head to London after winning five of their last seven games.

Torrens hit his first home run of the season off Nationals starter Patrick Corbin (1-7), while his second came in the sixth when he faced a Corbin sinker. Lindor followed with his tenth full return suit of the season.

It was the second time the Mets hit consecutive home runs since May 24 against the Giants.
