Puerto Rico will face a hot morning this Monday prior to the arrival of a cold front in the afternoon, which will bring with it downpours to sectors of the interior, north central and metropolitan area of the island.

According to National Weather Service meteorologist Lee Ann Ingles Serrano, the high temperatures, which on Sunday tied the previous record set in 2005 of 92 degrees Fahrenheit (F), could remain similar until the arrival of the downpours.

“We don’t have a lot of cloud cover in the area and that’s going to allow the sun to warm up again… But as the downpours develop, that’s going to result in temperatures not continuing to rise. Tomorrow (Tuesday) it would be the same pattern, but tomorrow is expected to be cloudier so very high temperatures are not expected either.”reported Ingles Serrano.
