Heliot Ramos drives in the Giants’ only run in the loss to the Phillies

San Francisco- Nick Castellanos had three hits, including a two-run homer, Cristopher Sanchez struck out seven during six scoreless innings and the major league-leading Philadelphia Phillies beat the San Francisco Giants 6-1 on Wednesday to break a three-game losing streak.

Castellanos added a double and a single for Philadelphia, which avoided a series sweep and ended a nine-game losing streak at Oracle Park.

Sanchez (3-3) allowed four hits scattered throughout his work, which included a walk. He improved his ERA to 2.83.

Kyle Schwarber reached 36 career home runs in the first inning of a game. He has achieved it five times this season, to tie him as the leader in that area with Baltimore’s Gunnar Henderson.

Schwarber added an RBI single in the eighth inning.

The loss went to Kyle Harrison (4-2).
