“We have this system that has become a historic one. Beryl was a system that 48 hours ago was a simple depression. Now it is a category four. The National Hurricane Center already believes that it has reached its maximum and will maintain this intensity as it moves through the Caribbean,” said Morales, who together with Correa Filomeno offered an update from the SNM headquarters, located in San Juan.

“The good news is that the system remains quite far from Puerto Rico at a distance of 200 to 300 miles southwest of the island. Therefore, its impact will be indirect. “We are not going to have category four or hurricane winds or even sustained tropical storm winds,” added the notice coordinator.
