“Hot and sticky” Wednesday expected with heat indexes above 100°F

He National Weather Service (SNM) predicts a hot day this Wednesday, with heat indices rising above 100 degrees Fahrenheit (°F). However, the accumulated humidity, in combination with the heat, is expected to produce rains in the south, center and north of Puerto Ricowhile a tropical wave is expected to arrive on the island tonight.

It’s going to be a hot and sticky day with the humidity building up in our region“said Robert Mitchell, SNM meteorologist.

“Today, we will have a greater chance of rain in the afternoon than we had on Tuesday. Although the wind will continue to blow from the south, In the morning we will be seeing rain in some southern coastal areas, but in the afternoon it will be over the interior and the central north part, and some showers in San Juan. The entire northern half,” he indicated.

Likewise, the meteorologist warned of high heat indices during Wednesday. High temperatures today are expected to remain in the low 90swhile accumulated humidity will cause heat indices to exceed 100 °F.
