Sana’a – The head of state of the Shia Houthi rebels and senior commander of the Armed Forces, Mahdi al Mashatassured today that the “foolishness” that the United States committed when attacking them and killing ten of their members at the Red Sea will be answered.
This was announced by the second in command after the supreme leader of the movement backed by Tehran.Abdelmalek al Huti, in a meeting with Houthi military leaders, as broadcast by the Yemeni channel and spokesperson for the group, Al Masira.
“And if you commit even greater folly, with every folly you commit, you will sink deeper into the Yemeni quagmire, and before you, There are 40 million Yemeni Muslim fighters“, threatened the insurgent, who pointed out that after the death of the ten Houthis, “you have forced us to start a battle.”
He asked why the United States believes it has the right to go to Red Sea from the other side of the Atlantic “to support terrorism Israel and fight for the (support) of Israel’s terrorism.”
He recalled that “any ship associated with the Zionist entity or owned by the Zionist entity or part of its property, (…) will not pass through the Red Sea at all costs”.
The ten Houthi fighters were killed after the US forces attack three militant boats in the Red Sea on December 31 in response to a distress call from the Singapore-flagged Maersk Hangzhou ship, which was under attack by rebels.
This is the first direct confrontation in the Red Sea between the Houthis and the United States, which leads the naval coalition created last month to secure international maritime tradeseriously affected after the main world shipping companies decided not to travel through this strategic route through which it passes around the 15% of world trade due to the actions of the rebels.
