Igor Gonzalez will continue to lead the Toritos de Cayey in Double A

The former big leaguer Juan ‘Igor’ Gonzalez will continue to command the runners-up Toritos de Cayey in the 2024 season of the Double A Superior Baseball League.

It will be his third consecutive season leading the team, which with Gonzalez at the helm has a title and a runner-up finish.

”We will be with the Toritos again next season. The fans and the treatment I have received make Cayey a good place. “It is a great team, only two or three adjustments that have to be made and work hard again for next year,” Gonzalez said in a league press release.

This year, Cayey fell short of its aspirations of achieving a first ‘back to back’ by falling in seven games in the final series against the Arenosos de Camuy.

”We will start working with the team a little later because there are many commitments and in the last two years we have been in the final, reaching seven games, which is not easy,” established the mentor.
