The resident commissioner in Washington, Jennifer Gonzalezcontemplates convening, for next Monday, the Board of Directors of the New Progressive Party (PNP) to begin the formal transition of the presidency of the community after its victory in the June 2 primaries against the governor Pedro Pierluisi.

Everything will depend, however, on the completion of the general scrutiny of the PNP and whether the State Election Commission (CEE) officially certified her as a candidate for governor of La Palma.

“I don’t want to get ahead of events until I have my official certification.”Gonzalez said this Monday, after participating in the inauguration of the Home and Psychosocial Recovery Program of the Department of Veterans.

In a previous interview with this newspaper, Gonzalez had anticipated that – once he assumed the presidency of the PNP – he would make changes in key positions. One of them, he anticipated, would be the appointment of Anibal Vega Borges as the party’s electoral commissioner, a position he held in the past and is now held by Vanessa Santo Domingowith whom the gubernatorial candidate has maintained controversies. He also said he would nominate a new alternate commissioner.
