The resident commissioner and pre-candidate for governor of the New Progressive Party (PNP), Jennifer Gonzalezproposed this Thursday to establish a bilingual program in public schools, as part of the plan that he would implement, if he arrived in La Fortaleza, to transform the Education deparment.

“Strengthening English is not going to be optional. Every day, we live in a more globalized, multicultural, interconnected world. The English language is the language of science, it is the language of business, it is the most spoken language worldwide, obviously, after Mandarin,” he noted. “It doesn’t have to do with where you live or where you go, it’s about having the tool in your hand.”
