Washington — The first lady of the United States, Jill Biden, tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday in a diagnostic test, but you only experience mild symptomssaid his spokesperson.
President Joe Biden took a test after his wife tested positive, but his results were negative. White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the president would continue to get tested regularly and will be monitored for symptoms.
Jill Biden will stay at the couple’s home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware for the momentsaid communications director Elizabeth Alexander.
The first lady had traveled with her husband to Florida on Saturday to inspect areas damaged by Hurricane Idalia. The president then spent part of the Labor Day weekend at his Delaware beach house and on Monday he traveled to Philadelphia for an event on unionism. He then he returned to the White House.
Both Bidens contracted COVID-19 last year.
