Joe Biden and Donald Trump agree to hold two debates, in June and September

Washington President Joe Biden and the former president donald trump They agreed on Wednesday to hold two campaign debates, one in June and another in September, but their teams are still far apart on key details such as the setting and ground rules for potential matchups.

The quick agreement on the agenda to face each other followed the Democrat’s announcement that he would not participate in the fall presidential debates sponsored by the nonpartisan commission that has organized them for more than three decades.

Biden’s campaign proposed that the first debate be held in late June and the second in September, before early voting begins. In a message on his Truth Social social network, Trump responded that he was “ready and available to debate” against Biden on the proposed dates.

Hours later, Biden accepted an invitation from CNN for a debate on June 27, adding: “It’s your turn, Donald. As you said: anytime, anywhere.”. Trump told Fox News Digital that he accepted the invitation: “I’ll be there”.
