Joe Biden puts on Chiefs helmet during Super Bowl champions’ visit to the White House

Washington, D.C. — United States President Joe Biden welcomed the Kansas City Chiefs to the White House on Friday, praising the two-time Super Bowl champion for their sportsmanship on and off the field, and breaking an unwritten rule about the hats.

He tried on the Chiefs helmet which was given to him by the team.

“It was something extraordinary to see him put the helmet on,” quarterback Patrick Mahomes told reporters after the celebration on the South Lawn. “We didn’t expect that. But it was really cool to see him put on the helmet, and convey that style for the rest of the “Chiefs Kingdome” to see.”

The Democratic president stressed that he mentioned last year at the Chiefs celebration that they were building a “dynasty.” He highlighted the difficulties they had to overcome last season on the way to the Super Bowl and said, “I don’t think anyone has any doubts about you now.”
