Joe Biden tests negative for COVID-19, but will wear a mask as a precaution

Washington – US President Joe Biden tested negative again this Tuesday in the second test COVID-19 which was performed after the first lady, Jill Biden, tested positive, but she will wear a mask as a precaution, the White House said.

Presidential spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre said in a press conference that Joe Biden has undergone two tests, one this Monday night and another today, and in both he has tested negative.

The Democratic president is also not experiencing any symptoms, but as a precautionary measure he will wear a mask indoors and also when around people, and will remove it when he can maintain a sufficient safety distance, Jean-Pierre added.

The first lady took a Covid-19 test on Monday night and tested positive. Jill Biden will stay at her residence on Rehoboth Beach, in the state of Delaware, for the rest of the week.

Biden intends to leave on Thursday for New Delhi to participate in the G20 leaders’ summit, which takes place between September 9 and 10, and from there he plans to go to Vietnam.

The president, who at 80 years old is the oldest president in the history of the United States, He already had covid-19 in July of last year.

Jill Biden’s infection occurs amid an increase in Covid-19 cases in the United States, where hospitalizations have risen 31% in the last two weeks, according to federal data.
