Jorge Lopez reacts to clarify his controversial expressions about the New York Mets

The Puerto Rican reliever Jorge Lopez, who was left out of the 40-player roster by the New York Mets, took to social media this Thursday to clarify his expressions, after his expulsion on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Lopez was ejected in the eighth inning after complaining to third base umpire Ramon de Jesus. Moments before, the Cayeyan allowed a two-run home run to Shohei Ohtani in the 10-3 loss.

Upon leaving the field, Lopez threw his cap onto the field and then threw his glove into the stands.

At the conclusion of the game, the press asked Lopez if he regretted his actions, to which the reliever replied: “I do not regret. I am what I am”.

It was when Lopez continued and the press understood that he said: “I think I’ve been on the worst team, probably in the entire damn MLB (Major League).”
