Jose Berrios and the Blue Jays suffer defeat against the Brewers

Milwaukee – Colin Rea allowed just three hits while pitching seven innings for his longest start in eight years, leading the Milwaukee Brewers to a 3-1 victory over the Toronto Blue Jayson Monday night.

Venezuelan Jackson Chourio and Dominican Willy Adames each hit home runs for the Brewers who went five games without hitting at least one home run. Milwaukee’s previous home run was a week ago when Rhys Hoskins knocked it out against his former team in a 3-1 loss in Philadelphia.

Rea (5-2) threw 85 pitches, struck out four and allowed one run on a four-corner hit by Mexican Alejandro Kirk. The last time Rea worked seven episodes was on June 7, 2016, when he was pitching for the San Diego Padres in a 4-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves.
