Colombian singers Shakira and Karol G last night they won the prize for “Best Collaboration” for its theme “TQG.”
The song, in Spanish, makes allusions to his ex-partners, the former Spanish soccer player Gerard Pique and the Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA, respectively. The song, released in February of this year, is part of the album “Tomorrow will be nice” by Karol G.
“I only want to say three things, long live Barranquilla, long live Medallo (Medellin) and long live Colombia!”said Shakira when she went on stage for the award.
“If collaborating with the legendary Shakira had been impressive, Having a prize with her is something else from another planet!”assured the voice of “Provenza”.
Minutes before, Karol G presented her songs “Oki Doki” and “Ta OK (remix)” accompanied by dancers dressed in pink costumes.
For her part, Shakira received the Video Vanguard Award and had a 10-minute presentation, which included a medley with hits like “Objection”, “Whenever”, “She Wolf” and “Hips Don’t Lie”, among other.
Both also appeared in the category of “Artist of the Year”, which for the first time in its history only women were nominated. The Colombians were joined by Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Doja Cat and Nicki Minaj. In this category, Swift, the big winner of the night, dominated.
