Karol G will receive the Billboard Spirit of Hope Award

Karol G will be honored with the Spirit of Hope Award at the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards.

This award, created in honor of Selena, is presented to artists who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to civic, community and humanitarian causes. The Billboard Latin Music Awards will be broadcast live on Telemundo 5th of October.

Carolina Giraldo Navarro, better known as Karol G, created the Con Cora Foundation with the aim of promoting the economic, social, psychological and artistic development of disadvantaged women.

Con Cora Foundation is an ally of the She Is Foundation, dedicated to empowering women and girls through science, technology and entrepreneurship education. Recently ella She Is ella achieved great success by providing training to Salome Valencia Lopez, a young woman selected to receive training at the NASA Space Center In Houston.

Another alliance of Karol G’s organization is with Internal Action Foundation which offers scholarships to women prisoners in Colombia and their female relatives. These scholarships aim to provide them with the skills and knowledge necessary to secure employment and their reintegration into society.

Recently, Karol G achieved his highest single on the Billboard Hot 100 charts with his collaboration with Shakira “TQG”, included in his fourth album “Tomorrow will be nice”, with which Karol G became the first woman to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 list with an album in Spanish. The Colombian singer-songwriter is a finalist in 13 categories of the Billboard Latin Music Awards, where she will receive the Spirit of Hope award.

The awards will take place at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Florida, on October 5 and will feature performances by Farruko, Frontera Group, La Factoria, Mark Anthony, Nicki Nicole, Pepe Aguilar, Sky Breaking, Sofia Reyes, Ximena Sarinana and Yng Lvcas.

Also confirmed are Caliber 50, Chiquis, The Alpha, Eladio Carrion, Justin Quiles, The blue Angels, Manuel Turizo, Marshmello, Mike Towers, Featherweight, Tini and Yandel.

The ceremony will be broadcast live on Telemundo and will be simulcast on the Universo cable channel, the streaming service Peacockthe Telemundo app, and throughout Latin America and the Caribbean on Telemundo Internacional.
